This is my second Lavabox purchase so I know it's going to be amazing and can't wait to try it out.

Used the LAVABOX ammo can fire pit this weekend and it worked flawlessly, just as advertised. Spent the weekend camping near the central coast in CA for a Veterans weekend charity event and temps dropped down to almost freezing at night. We had two fire pits burning to keep a dozen or so of us warm while we enjoyed a few drinks and shared some great stories. The fire pit put out a good flame and generates a lot of heat, but I will say that most of the heat dissipates out into the atmosphere. In comparison my buddy had an Wolf Howl fire pit and that has an elaborate manifold-tube system that put out a small flame, but traps most of the heat in the manifold and it then radiates it out to the sides, even staying warm for a while after the fire has been put out. Truth is that isn't a fair comparison because the Wolf Howl costs around $1,200 and my LAVABOX kit was less than $300. However, it would be great if maybe LAVABOX built a manifold kit that you could place over the top of the can, to retain some of that heat and radiate it out... just a thought. Still I'm happy with the purchase, and would add that the duffle bag it came with packs everything away nicely and it stores perfectly under my van's bench seat. A lot of the other round fire pits on the market would not, because they're too wide.

I was just about to buy a competing product by a manufacturer who makes propane growlers. I read a few reviews and found a local Colorado company manufactures there with a better product. Buy USA and better product. That's a win-win. I just used this up around 10,600 while hunting / camping and it was SO nice to have a fire, even though the fire bans were in effect. I cannot tell you how pleasurable it was to have a simple to use product that makes the whole evening enjoyable. My second use with sitting in my driveway with a couple buddies sipping beer and enjoying the lavabox. The next may be cooking marshmallows with my family. This is some of the best money I've spent for the great out doors....

PS: be cautious with the folding grill. It does have fairly sharp edges.

We ordered a Lavabox for worry -free Colorado camping as well as the occasional recreational fire on the patio, and haven't been disappointed. It's beautifully designed and built, and functions exactly as it's supposed to-as an infinitely adjustable campfire or a cooking fire. You have to be impressed by the quality hardware and the way it all fits into the great carry bag. I'll give it two thumbs up, and that's because I only have two thumbs.

Just used it for the first time last weekend and love it! The option to create a blue flame for cooking with the trident is a great addition. I didn’t realize the included grill top was out of stock and was worried it wouldn’t make it in time for our trip but customer service was very responsive and was able to get the lavabox sent out in time without the grill top.
