We got our Lava box and went camping with it. There was a fire ban in effect but we were good to go with the gas fire. Can't say enough how great it was to be able to adjust the fire height setting to our desired temperature. I built my own tripod stand for an elevated fire, but honestly, we liked the fire closer to the ground to warm our legs better. Lava box seems really indestructible and it's more compact and lighter than those round fire pits out to there. Thanks for the amazing purchase experience🤩

Got it just in time for our camping trip. Love how it fits nicely in the case and is easy to tote around. Love the compact size instead of breaking out a portable grill or kitchen. Do need to pay attention to how much gas is going in when you light it. But love it.

The scratch and dent fire pit was a great deal and a great product. The item would probably be at least as dented after me using it for one campout.

We planned to go camping but learned that a burn ban had been put in place. At least in TX, the lavabox is allowable during burn bans under state/county regulations.

So we were able to make hot dogs, smores, cooked eggs & bacon, a ribeye..as well as used it for our fire pit to sit around. The flames can go pretty high without it being loud at all.

Super happy with it. Added bonus of ease of use - I'll be searing my steaks outside at the house with it and not have the house smell!

Like a moron I enjoyed a fire in the Lava Box without first removing the lid. Eventually the stank of burning rubber let me know the error of my ways. The old gasket wasn’t completely toast, but its appearance was a constant reminder of what a fool I’d been, so it had to be replaced. It was easy to swap out the old for new and now I feel better about myself.

been looking for a way to get my fire pit at waist height for cooking- this works.
I had some issues, but talked with the owner (that never happens) and we sorted it out, got some ideas for potential improvements.That type of customer service is nearly non existent anymore and a wonderful change, maybe other small business will take note!

Love this thing, very easy to transport and convenient. Puts out a great amount of heat for a tiny unit.

Here in Oregon, we have a temperamental fire season but also some pristine camping. The Hekla is a perfect addition because during peak summer monthe when camping is its best, there's an open fire ban - basically any open flame other than contained propane.
As much fun as sitting around a Coleman grill is, Lavabox has given us a perfect alternative that will keep the camping vibes going strong, while also being safe. It's easy to transport, hookup, and use. It gives off a TON of heat when needed, and dominates in the food prep as well. Such a perfect addition to our gear set!
