Did ya ever see the 1990 horror *sorta* classic, Arachnophobia? It's a heart warming tale of a killer spider that travels from South America in a corpse to the sleepy, fictional town of Canaima, California. There, he falls head over spinneret in love with a lovely local house spider. They make tons of babies and terrorize the town. It's a great movie if you are into spiders and eight legged love stories. 

Anyway, we just really like that movie and spiders, so we named our new, super versatile tripod after another cool spider...the Daddy Long Legs. The Daddy Long Legs lets you choose how high you have your fire and camp stove. Extend it up for cooking in waist-high comfort or drop it down for campfire mode so the heat rises to meet your sweet cheeks when performing the human rotisserie. You can even raise it up to Viking-funeral style for your friend who was bitten by a killer spider in South America. 

The Daddy Long Legs breaks down into three parts and is easily stowed with your BugOut Bag and LavaBox. It's very convenient!

Well built game changer well worth the wait thank you lava box team

Overall the unit is well made and quality. Note my comment is for the pre-order group. My primary constructive criticism is that the bolts that connect to the base plate are raised. The raised bolts are what the lava box then sits on. Although functionally probably doesn’t cause a lot of instability, the unit just rocks much more than I would have expected. Comfortable with using it as a fire, but not cooking with the big plate or boiling water/soup.

Perhaps a solution is to countersink the bolts or add a spacer/bump at the four corners.

Innovative

As disappointed I was in the pre order process and lack of communication for this new item, it seems to be well made. After 8 weeks of a placing the order only one communication went out that was still vague with zero timing explained on it. Only time will tell on this new item and using it more.
