LavaBox Portable Campfire
Krakatoa FireBreather: Our Biggest Campfire
You might ask yourself, “Do I really need a can of fire that is taller my 12 year old?” If you just asked that question, the Krakatoa is not for you. Back away slowly. Like it’s namesake, the Krakatoa Firebreather feels like the real thing with a Volcanic Explosivity Rating of about 6 (or something like that). It’s a big fire. The Krakatoa FireBreather is a 20mm Rocket Box perfect for your patio or the block party. Our largest LavaBox, this behemoth of fire is great for sitting around at camp with your group of 10+. Could it make it’s own island? Maybe.
Big, tough, fiery!

I have plenty experience lighting bbqs, legal brush fires, fire pits etc. but this pos blows up even with the gas at just cracked but this stupid thing blows up each time. I’m not an idiot and I followed the instructions to the letter. It literally blew up in my face. This is a terrible design and as this happened in California I am looking at an attorney for the burn I got on my face. My face was more than a foot back from the fire but it burned my face. The bbq lighter I used was lit and was close to the burner ring even though, I sustained burns on my right arm and face. So needless to say this is a 1 star review from someone who has decades of experience with propane and other fuel devices and fires and for this to happen…. Don’t buy this product!!!!!!
I recommend the Lava Box. Big and small flame. Easy to store. Takes no time set up. Lots of options! Happy 4th
We brought this to a family camping trip near FairPlay, and it was an instant hit! Everyone loved it! It was able to put out significantly more heat than our wood fire pit. I love this thing!
Highly recommend for those looking for a fire box capable of keeping 2-3 people warm and up to 10+. This covers all of our needs either at home for a party or out camping. Well built and super easy to set up.
I bought the bigger box because it was only $100 more. WOW what a fire. Even the neighbor in the rv resort thought we had a wood fire. Worth every penny.
The crazy stuff people say about LavaBox.
“The Vol-CAN-no is a super cool piece of gear.”
“We were just on a river trip with one of these. Stage 2 fire ban compliant. This was super cool and burned hardly any fuel! Well done.”
Camping in California during the summer or a poolside party in Oregon? Lavabox has you covered, and according to the manufacturer, can be used anywhere, anytime.
The ammo cans are durable, water proof and long-lasting, so they stay out of landfills. Reusable ceramic rocks and a propane-fueled burner then give it the picture-perfect flame.
